3C takes Lakeshore Learning to New York to Meet with Top Publications
The weather may be warm outside, but we’re thinking about the holidays already.
This summer, we took Lakeshore Learning, a top retailer of educational products for kids, to meet with national parenting and lifestyle magazines during a crucial time when they are beginning to plan for holiday gift guide issues. The editors were excited to get an exclusive first look at Lakeshore’s newest products for the 2018/19 holiday season.
Public relations and the media landscape change daily, but one constant is the value in building strong, mutually beneficial relationships – whether it’s with clients, consumers or with the media who are writing stories about our brands. In today’s digital age with new apps and ways to communicate launching what feels like hourly, face-to-face communication is becoming vital to building meaningful relationships with editors.
Here are 3 reasons why deskside meetings benefit our clients:
Gain Immediate Editor Feedback
Showcasing new products in person allows us to hear directly from the editors and answer any questions they may have about the brand or product on the spot.
Keep New Products Top-of-Mind
Putting a face to an email helps keep our clients’ products at the forefront. Since magazine editors work about six months out, there is a long lead-time and plenty of time for editors to forget an email. However, they’ll certainly remember an in-person meeting.
Enthusiasm is Infectious
When our clients are excited about their products, editors are too!
Overall, we had a successful few days in NYC meeting with 10 outlets including Parents, FamilyFun, Real Simple, O Magazine and more. We’re looking forward to sharing the resulting holiday coverage in the coming months!
