Driving new packaging trial for the quick service restaurant industry

The Challenge

Winpak, a global packaging industry leader providing superior material and equipment solutions, came to 3rd Coast PR to spread the news about the launch of their innovative Hi-Bar™ Condiment Filling System. This system showcased Winpak’s development of a new sustainable packaging concept, providing condiment producers and quick serve restaurant (QSR) operators with a superior packaging alternative that is also better for the planet. While the product was exciting, the timing was tight—they were launching at an industry trade show in just over a month!

Strategy and Execution

We needed to highlight Hi-Bar’s proprietary material structure that has a lower environmental impact, something that has long been an unmet need of the QSR industry. We crafted strategic messaging for both the restaurant and packaging industry trades that enticed media to run news about the launch of the Hi-Bar™ system. Tapping in to our traditional media relations roots, we were able to have meaningful conversations with editors at the top restaurant and packaging trade publications about Winpak’s progressive sustainability efforts, creating buzz about the product launch and Winpak as a company. Using the annual Pack Expo trade show as a timely hook, we were able to quickly provide ample results for Winpak to share at the show as they launched formally to the industry.
